Dwyer Conklyn MM MT-BC                                          Founder, Administrative Director

Dwyer achieved a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and his Master of Music in Music Therapy from Colorado State University.  Dwyer is a clinical and research neurologic music therapist and founder of DBC3 Music Therapy, LLC.

Dwyer has worked on inpatient hospital units in neurological, cardiac, transplant and palliative care, as well as in community based clinical settings working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, adults with Developmental Delays, stroke, Pick’s disease and hospice.

Dwyer has been involved in two different lines of research.  The first being the effects of Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation to improve gait stability in MS.  The research group’s initial findings from their first pilot study are published in NeuroRehabilitation and Neural Repair. This group completed a follow up study co-funded by the Consortium for MS Centers and the Cleveland Clinic looking to build on their pilot data and has submitted to the NIH for grant funding for a large scale study to build on their findings. The second line of research has been looking at the effects of a modified version of Melodic Intonation Therapy on stroke patients with Expressive Aphasia. The findings from this study are published in The Journal of Speech Language and Hearing Research.

Taylor is a music therapist at DBC3 Music Therapy, LLC. After earning her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Akron where she specialized in vocal performance, Taylor completed the music therapy program at Cleveland State University. Following an internship with Dwyer Conklyn, Taylor accepted a position at DBC3 Music Therapy, LLC.

Taylor specializes in working with clients recovering from acquired traumatic and non-traumatic brain injuries, and neurological disorders. As someone with experience as a caregiver to an individual with a rare neurological disease, Taylor brings unique insight and understanding to the rehabilitation and care of her clients.
